Artists that explore the materiality of objects in their work, approaching them from a variety of possibilities outside their utilitarian function. Using different means for the conception and production of their pieces, Anabel Quirarte and Jorge Ornelas carry out an investigation that approaches the object from its material condition, fragmenting and reconstructing it into structures in which the form transcends the function, referring to the sculptural process a through painting, drawing, objects and installation. In her work, they evoke artistic practice through reinterpretations of everyday objects, and painting becomes a record of these objects, functioning as a means of knowledge.

They studied Plastic Arts at the National School of Painting, Sculpture and Engraving "La Esmeralda" and at the Academy of Plastic Arts in Karlsruhe, Germany. Their work, carried out in collaboration since 2004, has been exhibited individually in New York, Frankfurt, Seoul, Monterrey and Mexico City, and collectively in different cities in America, Europe and Asia. Their work is in art collections such as the Wurth Museum in Germany, the Madeira Foundation in Portugal, KGAL in Germany, the Economic Culture Fund in Mexico, the Auteide Foundation in Spain, IAGO in Mexico, and UNAM in Mexico, among others.

Among the supports and recognitions they have obtained are the scholarship from the Baden-Wurttemberg exchange program at the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Kunste Karlsruhe, Germany; Honorable Mention at the XIII Rufino Tamayo Painting Biennial 2006; First place in the Luna Prize, an Artistic Expression 2009, and the Young Creators support granted by FONCA in 2006, 2013 and 2014.

They currently live and work in Mexico City.
