Guaymas, Sonora, 1960.
Multidisciplinary artist whose work stood out in the nineties. Larios has practiced painting, open concept drawing, and the use of software to create two-dimensional and three-dimensional visual environments. In his imaginary the postmodern condition is fulfilled in which contemporary culture is the starting point for the elaboration of scenes that manifest a return to sacred referents, philosophical themes and timeless fables. Larios's production is not an uncritical quote or a mere appropriation of the subjects that interest him, but rather a poetic, ironic and reflective exploration of the state in which our relationships with faith, will and destiny are.
He studied design with a specialization in art history at La Salle University, Laguna. In his career he has 26 individual exhibitions and more than 98 collective ones. Among his latest awards and distinctions, in 2009-2012 he was a Fellow of the National System of Creators (CONACULTA), has been the winner of the Arts Prize at the Autonomous University of Nuevo León, the VII Biennial of Cuenca, Ecuador, the FEMSA Biennial, obtained First Prize at the XII "Rufino Tamayo" Biennial, among others. In 2017 he was an artist honored at the Ortiz Tirado International Festival in Álamos, Sonora.
